The murder trial of Calvin Bailey ended in yet another hung jury, after a mixed jury,Baker Mayfield Jersey, following hours of deliberation, failed to return a unanimous verdict at the High Court in Georgetown yesterday. Bailey was charged for killing 18-month-old Shaquan Nero.He was accused of chopping the toddler to the throat, during an altercation with the baby’s mother Bernadette Nero in April 2007. ?Bailey, called ‘Lava’, of Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden; Agricola, East Bank Demerara and Campbellville,NBA Jerseys Store, Georgetown, faced a trial before Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry and a 12-member jury.The case was presented by State Prosecutors Michael Shahoud and Orinthia Schmidt. Bailey was represented by Attorney Peter Hugh.Calvin BaileyAlthough potentially cleared of the murder charge Bailey was however sent back to prison since he has another case pending.This is the second trial before a Judge and Jury for the accused. She recalled a brutal attack perpetrated by former spouse.
